ABOUT THE FARMING MOTHER

At The Farming Mother, we are on a mission to create a sustainable, engaging, and client-focused haven for families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Our commitment lies in supporting all SEND parent families, especially mothers, and their children, as they navigate the complexities of parenting in today’s world.

Our Story

The Farming Mother CIC was founded by one women Keeley Reading who wanted to create a space where neurodiverse children could thrive. She saw the transformative power of animal therapy with her own children and especial with her neurodiverse daughter who has autism, adhd, sensory processing disorder and non verbal along with other needs and wanted to share it with others. Today, our farm is home to a variety of animals, including horses, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks and small furry ones. We are proud to have helped countless children and families over the years and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in our community.

Our Vision

We understand that parenting a SEND child can be both a profoundly rewarding and extraordinarily challenging journey. As dedicated advocates for these families, we recognize the increasing demands placed on mothers and the profound impact of these challenges on their well-being. Our holistic approach is designed to empower both children and parents, fostering an environment where everyone can thrive.

We believe that every child deserves a chance to learn and grow in a supportive environment. That's why we offer a range of farm-based activities that are tailored to meet the needs of each child.

Our approach is based on the belief that nature and animals have a healing effect on the mind and body. We strive to create a safe and inclusive space where children can explore and discover without fear of judgment or failure.
